The secret of successful salary negotiations: Preparation!
To emphasize the importance of this subject, I have dedicated a separate chapter with several pages to it. If you not only want to land a great new job but also a well-paid one, you will have to prepare properly for this phase of the application process too.
Moreover, you must do this in time. I have put this subject at the end of my tour, as it usually arises after your professional suitability has been clarified. Sometimes, this is done in a later meeting. You may, however, also be asked about your salary expectations at the end of your first interview already. Therefore, it is important that you start preparing yourself for it as early as possible, but in any case, before the first job interview with a potential new employer.
